Stephanie Vovou completed her Classical Certification in 2006 at Power Pilates New York under the teachings of Master Trainers Bob Leikens and Susan Moran. She has an extensive background in many disciplines of movement including Dance, Acrobatics and Martial arts and Yoga. She has an unusually keen eye for alignment and experience working with clients who are pregnant, injured or suffering from chronic ailments. She specializes in bringing the Client’s attention to detail and alignment while still maintaining a hardy workout.  Stephanie has developed “Efficient Movement Pattern Reprogramming Operation,” a method with which she assists clients to enhance their mind-body connection, re-educating them toward anatomically correct alignment, and prompting them to consciously access connections to their muscles in order to move as efficiently as possible. In addition to Pilates and E.M.P.R.O., Stephanie is a certified M.A.T, Jumpstart  practionioner, Hatha Yoga Instructor and Reiki Master. Stephanie also teaches Protoform exercises by Troy Stallman as a part of his Protoform Intervention practice.

 

“I began my study of movement through dance and sports at an early age, but it wasn’t until my first injuries in my early twenties that I began focusing on learning how to correct my movement patterns to prevent further injury. My experience with the Pilates method was minimal before I decided to jump in and get certified, so I experienced first hand how quickly misalignments could be corrected and the body could be transformed. After 6 months of practicing the method, I realized that I was pain free and had been tolerating living in a high state of pain for far too long.  I was astounded that I had spent so much of my life unconscious or misinformed about movement, and amazed how different my body looked and felt.

 

As a teacher, I am fully committed to helping others gain the strength  and knowledge to correct their own bodies and be as self sufficient as possible. I believe that we all need support, encouragement and an outside perspective in that journey, and I do everything I can to communicate my knowledge, experience and what I see at the moment to each client in a way they can understand best. Every person and situation is different and I tailor each session to my client’s specific needs so they can achieve their Ideal Body.”
